There is an excellent website called DemoChoice (http://www.demochoice.org) that utilizes a ranked-choice voting program written in PHP that may be adaptable as a Joomla! component. The idea of this type of voting in elections is becoming increasingly popular and there are a number of organizations (and their websites) which are promoting it. I am considering using the program in a non-Joomla site (http://www.fresno2008.com) but as I began hacking the DemoChoice program to suit my specific needs, I began to realize that this work would be more beneficial if it were done toward the creation of a DemoChoice component for Joomla.
The problem is I am not fluent with PHP nor have I ever atempted to create a Joomla! component. I am willing to work with someone and help with the job of creating a DemoChoice component.
