Advanced Search using User

Post by AmyStephen » Mon Mar 05, 2007 6:06 pm

I hate to say this, but, I don't think the Advanced Search is working when you use the user option.

Other than that, though, and that is a blazingly fast search. I have used it quite a bit recently and have noticed my frustration level is greatly diminished.

But, I think there's a bit of a bug with the user option.

Thanks for all you do!
Amy :)

Hi Amy,

I just did a quick search on a specific topic (mosmainbody) and my replies (RobInk) got listed in the results.

You are correct. That search does work.

What I was doing was trying to find only my Showcase posts. So, I used that "trick" where you give it the letter "a" and restricted the search for my name and the Showcase forum. It appears there is a required number of letters now in the 'search for' value. The word "the" appears to be "nothing", too.

I hope I am not expected to outsmart this thing. I am working with limits, here! ;)

Truthfully, it is probably working exactly as it's designed and so minor adjustments in my search will be required. No big deal. I think I can adapt!

Thanks for your response!

Actually, I've always used the "a" trick. If I'm not mistaken, I learned it from Brad. But, it's okay if I can't use it anymore. No big deal.

Amy, how about Search item 'Amy' and User 'AmyStephen' and mark that specific board?
Bet you have a habbit of writing Amy at least once in each thread, right  ;)

You are absolutely right. Man, it kind of sucks being so predictable - but then, that predictability starts to come in handy in situations like this

Thanks Ot2sen!
