SVN Error: 301 Moved Permanently

Post by musicones » Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:48 am

Hi,

what has changed to SVN?

I try to connect to SVN like this:

svn checkout --username developername http://joomlacode.org/svn/joomlagerman

like it's described on the SVN page of the project. That worked.

Today I get this error message:

Code: Select all

svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/joomlagerman'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn/joomlagerman': 301 Moved Permanently (http://www.joomlacode.org/)

As far as i can ascertain, it is all working fine for me to access my own SVN project accounts.

JoomlaGerman, presents me with a Password request, which I assume is correct with your project being a private project.

Project is set to private yes.

Browsing SVN with Forge works fine. Using an SVN-Client doesn't work, but it worked before and I haven't changed a thing.
That's strange.
Google searching says something like that:

SVNParentPath must point to a folder on a file system containing repositories (with a folder for each one of them).

Location tag then specified the URI, that will be parent to all these repositories.

Repositories are then accessed with
http://hostname/parent-part/repository-folder-name

Any further help appreciated.

Add me to your project if you would like (russw) with read-only access to your SVN tree and I will be able to test it in about 1/2 hour or so.

Depending on how you look at the result ;) I am pleased to say that I have managed to access " http://joomlacode.org/svn/joomlagerman " and download via my SVN client from Australia.

Is your ISP's DNS having a problem maybe?

??? No way. I have updated my client now. What client do you use?
I'm using latest TortoiseSVN. Never had problems before.

All works fine. Internet Connection etc.
I'm connected through lan on work. We don't change things that work  ;)
So, same as usual, but the SVN Connection to my project...  :-\

Ok, got it now.  :D

NEVER use
http:/www.joomlacode.org/svn/projectname

Address has to be without www.

if I had copied it out I would not have had that error message, so copy'n paste is good.
if I had copied it out I would not have had that error message, so copy'n paste is bad.

I have learned once more...

thanks

Sorry, I completely missed the " www "  I am just in the habit of not using it I suppose. Glad you got it all working now. Don't forget to remove me from your project roster ;)  Good luck with the project
