Joomla!Day Malaysia/Kuala Lumpur- March 2007
Hi all,
I just like to inform you that the local community from Malaysia requested a Joomla!Day for 2007.
We are very excited about this event and glad to inform everybody that the event will be held on the 17th of March in Kuala Lumpur. The website of the project is still under construction but I expect it to be online pretty soon.
If you are interested in this event, have a suggestion for a speach or presentation please post here in the thread.
Best greetings and have lot's of fun
Alex

Hi,
I am promoting the use of Joomla as the preferred CMS. My company offers design and various administrators' services using Joomla & Virtuemart. I am keen to meet up with fellow developers / hobbyists and etc.
Please let me know if the event is confirmed. Will put that as a top priority event. First in Malaysia I believe.

If the CD that we built for Melbourne J! Day is of use, let us know, it is available in ISO format on the forge....

Hey Russ,
this CD is really cool and I was already thinking about using it for more events. I have the ISO image from Brad. Is there a possibility to even easily change the content? They might want to add some content in their language.
Many thx

Alex
Not a problem with content, two basic static files, one index.html (which is basically just a copy of index.php) for those not on Windows or where the "Live Demo's" don't work, and an index.php which will auto-run if on Windows and start Apache, MySQL etc.
All the utilities etc released on the CD are GNU/GPL or Creative Commons, only things that would need updating would maybe be some of the Extensions if they have been updated and the Joomla! 1.5 nightly build we used for the "Live Demo"
Basically, go for it, what-ever you need to do with it. If I can be of assistance and time permits, sing-out...
[edit] skype me if you want to have a chat about it at all... details are in the Q&T profile post

Re: Joomla!Day Malaysia/Kuala Lumpur- March 2007
Hi All..
Thanks to OSM/Joomla for giving us permissions to organize the event. Thanks to you to Akede@Alex for your help.
We are going to use the Joomla Autorun Cd, but not sure yet which version. But I will recommend the CD to the person whos incharge for Joomla Day Malaysia Edition. Of course, we do need to change some of the contents to reflect our website/theme and our edition. Thanks RussW for your CD.
I think, I would be able to extract the CD ISO and then recompiled it again. I will try to inform my team about this.
Thanks Again.

Would be interested to publish a report in the news magazine from an attendee's viewpoint though.

Does anyone have a recording for important portions of this event? I would be willing to cover the costs if anyone has any recordings.

Just e-mail me [email protected] if you need any help.
Nope, there's no recordings, but if you want to organize a J! Day at your place, we can share our experience and help you out.
