Joomla! Website - what are these tabs?

Post by Wizzie » Wed Mar 28, 2007 11:34 pm

Joomla! Website http://www.joomla.org/
This is the main website, which includes information about Joomla! and the Core Team. It also has information about the Joomla! License and Logo. There are links to Official News, FAQ, Partners and Joomla! in the press.

News http://www.joomla.org/content/blogcategory/0/33/
The Joomla! news pages are available 24x7 to ensure that you are kept up to date with the latest developments, offerings and information regarding the Joomla! project and many 3rd Party developer activities. It is a hub of activity and useful information, a great place to get to know the project and community better.

Help http://help.joomla.org/
The Joomla! Help Site provides information to people new to Joomla! or seasoned developers. We will attempt to provide you with effective documentation, or at least to point you in the direction of the help you may need.

This is an ongoing, organic project, and everyone involved in writing, editing, or proof-reading our documentation is volunteering here out of their commitment to Joomla! If you do not know why Joomla! is so great or why you might want to learn how to use it, take a look at this page: What is Joomla!? http://www.joomla.org/content/view/12/26/

Forum http://forum.joomla.org/
The forum teams and a variety of other Joomla! Working Groups consist of a truly international community with members covering the globe, so on many occasions posts and queries are responded to within a very short timeframe.

Forums are purposely designed with end-users and international communities in mind, not only having English speaking threads, but also having specifically designated language support area’s to ease the translation burden on both Joomla! team members and end-users.

Extensions http://extensions.joomla.org/ (Components, Modules, Mambots and Plugins)
The extensions website has been developed to provide a centrally located repository of a vast selection of Joomla! related 3rd party add-ons and tools. Categorised for simple navigation and maintained constantly, you are sure to find many useful extras for Joomla!, ensuring your site includes as much, if not all of the functionality that you and your end-users require. Extensions listed included both free and commercial extensions. There is also JoomlaCode.org http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/frs/ which is the Joomla! forge where you can find Open Source tools and extensions.

Shop shop.joomla.org
The Joomla! Shop. Get equipped with great Joomla! stuff and contribute to the project at the same time.

Developers http://dev.joomla.org/
The Joomla! Developer Network is a one stop shop for content and resources specific to developing for the Joomla! content management system. Whether you are looking for code samples, technical overviews, documentation, core team updates or any other information you may need on Joomla! development the developer network is here to help.

With the JDN we strive to provide you with a clear road map to understanding and working with the Joomla! API.

Third party developers have been asking for more transparency and we have been listening! Most of the ideas, which are being implemented to build this site, have come from them and we expect that the JDN will become a creativity and networking magnet.
