FAQ: Migrating your site from local development (WAMP) to a live server (hosted)

I would love to see instructions on how to migrate a Joomla site which has been developed locally (ie using WAMP on a desktop machine) and publish this on a live site (ie webhost).

I have been trolling through the boards trying to find any information that I can, but as yet to no real avail 

Steps such as

• Moving your database
• Moving your templates
• Moving your settings
• and everything else that is needed to duplicate your site
