what happened to Joomla!pack?
Hi there,
what happened to the Joomla!pack backup utility and why isn't it listed in the extensions directory anymore?
I finally found it on a sourceforge site but it wasn'teven zipped up correctly. it was a zip within a zip.
I noticed that there were a number of security advisories about it and an apparent vulnerability so perhaps that's why it was removed.
are there any plans to release it with the vulnerability fixed?
I think I liked this more than bigape backup.
thanks,
Kurt

Re: what happened to Joomla!pack?
When sending mail to their email address, I got the following reply:
This is an automatically generated message. Due to the ever-increasing
workload of my day job I am forced to suspend the development of
JoomlaPack for the forseeable future (at least until June). During
this time I will not be able to respond to your requests.

When the JED team are made aware of a vulnerability in an extension they remove it(and contct the developer) untl the vulnerbility is fixed. Wow arent they good and isnt that great of them.
I would guess that the developer is either no longer around, cannot resolve the security issue or hasnt had the time yet

Re: what happened to Joomla!pack?
There was a report of vulnerabilities in this particular extension.
Developer has been notified and will release a security audited version as soon as possible.

When this release is ready jpack will be republished at Joomla! Extensions Directory

Re: what happened to Joomla!pack?
i would like some info on this as well?? Great little component for repackaging your Joomla installs.. I think the developer is to busy to maintain this component.. too bad
hopefully he will open this up on the new forge for others to continue development.
