Suggestion, not to take the old forge offline

Post by aravot » Fri May 04, 2007 5:25 pm

Could we please keep the old forge online but disable write permission.

Reason most of the projects in JED are still pointing to old forge example of two that I need Joomap and Gallery2 Bridge I can't access these and they are not in new forge have contacted both developers without any respond, further more the forum in the old forge had tips and tricks, bug fixes and more.

I am setting up a site using  Registered Downloads component and I remember there was a fix in the forum for Register Globals off, I need that fix.

Hence please keep the old forge online at least for a bit longer, thank you.

The contract for Forge has expired, unfortunately getting it back isn't an option any more (financial).

The author of the Migration script indeed hasn't indicated he wants the project migrated (it wasn't created by a workgroup developer member). The script hasn't been tested with the current beta, it wasn't in focus for this. I personally don't even know if it works with the current 1.5beta2.

I can't seem to get at the Joomap files on the new forge site. Is that because the project site is broken, or is it a problem on my end?

Either way, does anyone have a way for me to get the latest version of Joomap?

Thanks,

- Jeff

The project administrator has never acknowledged the questions regarding his project still being alive (either when sending email to his JED account and old Forge account.

the problem lies in the fact that forge has been deactivated. All Joomla Project owners were given a time period in which they must transfer allo there projects to Joomla Code, but most of them never done this!

You will have to wait for a copy to appear on JoomlaCode
