Rules on voting
I’m considering writing a Joomla extension and have been perusing your site to become familiar with what components and modules are out there.
I’ve noticed that there are developers (authors) voting UP and reviewing their own components as well as voting DOWN and reviewing their competitor’s components.
My understanding from reading your rules and use of the site is that this type of voting is NOT supposed to happen.

Re: Rules on voting
Hi xhorn - and welcome to Joomla! Community forum.
You are absolutely right. Good to see someone starting by reading the rules. There´s still hope
Should any developer feel tempted to act against the set of rules, the its clearly stated what will happen.
They will be banned and their extensions unpublished. We wont accept manipulation.
We just 'Cleaned House' some weeks ago, and this will be a continued effort. See this blog post:

Looking forward to see your new extension being submitted.

I would love to know the facts you have found to base this sentence on as the voting on the JED is anonymous

Re: Rules on voting
Just to avoid confusion, I better say that the "You are absolutely right" did relate to this only

Re: Rules on voting
Thanks ot2sen for such a quick response. Renews my faith also.
I read through the entire post you directed me to and I do believe that you take this type of manipulation very seriously.
So, if I see what appears to be a violation, how do I report that?
Specifically, there appears to be a developer that has written a review and given a 5-star rating to his own extension and about the same time negatively reviewed and gave a 2 star rating to a component in the same category???

Re: Rules on voting
Pretty simple. Just hit the 'Report this review' and let the Editors deal with it. Thanks.
Re: Rules on voting
Thanks ot2sen. Pretty simple, yes.
To PhilTaylor Prazgod, the voting appears to be anonymous, but not the reviews.
Thanks again.
