Old Forge Import

Post by mtk » Sat Aug 04, 2007 11:17 am

Hi,
When JCode first appeared I quickly created new projects to my stuff.
What happened to the OLD stuff, was it supposed to be imported?

All projects from Forge have been imported, including empty ones, excluding wiki pages. It was too difficult to migrate these. Do you want some information from one of your projects?

OK, 10x, but now there are 2 Hebrew Projects:
  • The 1 I created (when JCode was new) which is empty for now
  • The old 1, where I was already an Admin & you added me now...

Which one do you want to use? If there is one empty one, I suggest that this project is removed and the 'old' one is used. Any preference?

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomlahebrew/ - the NEW one, can be removed.
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/hebrew_language/ - the OLD one, can stay.
(I'm the only user/admin anyway)

Can you change the Project name to be as the NEW one.
this way pages in the DEV/Translation/Other WG won't need any change...

Unfortunately, I can't change the name of that project. In Gforge, this points to a file system path which has more information regarding the project (svn, etc.). Maybe easier to ask Ole/JM about changing the link?

there are other links beside those...
what about moving the files from one project to the other?

That can be done. When looking through the project, there were only files in it. Then it's probably easiest to take those files, create new file packages and import the files.

this mean the SVN wasn't imported...

In this case, just delete the OLD one - I'll update the needed files & it won't need any link changes.

I can ask Sam, he has backups of all projects. He can also import that in the older project. I'll ask him.

Hi shaifful,

added you to the project in Joomlacode. Do you have any idea where Faisal is? Hasn't been around for quite a long time.

Sorry to bring this up again, but before I update any files on the Hebrew Project I'd like to ask again - where...

There are 2 Hebrew project (one I've when JoomlaCode was started - one that we had from Forge):
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/hebrew_language/
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomlahebrew/

I thought you deleted one of them, but now they are both empty...

Sometimes one can shoot oneself to the head when doing something stupid.

Can you check here now: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/hebrew_language/frs/. Is this what you were after?

Gforge has a bit of a strange way to deal with 'not release' software in a project. It's not possible then to download or open files that are in there. Have now made all files public and released. All files should be visible now.
