Memory upgrade for joomla forum server

Post by tsimpo » Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:50 am

The past months we experience problems with the joomla forum. It's down for many hours.

Is in your plans to upgrade memory or the whole server?

Please can you outline the problems you are seeing. Why do you think it is related to memory? When you noticed this outage, did you run a traceroute?

The forum is slower the last two months and it's not related to my connection speed.

I use different computers and os's and connections to check it and its almost always slow.

Additionally yesterday after submitting a reply and lot of second later I got a plain text message that SFM cannot handle this because the database is too busy or cannot connect on it.

After that all afternoon I tried to reach forum.joomla.org and from another pc and it was stack. I didn't get a 404 or else error. It was trying to fetch the page but nothing.

Sometimes I got 404 for forum.joomla.org.

No, I didn't run a traceroute but the next time this occur I'll do that and post here the results.

Also, I'll post any other messages of SMF I receive and the timestamp they occurred.

I certainly haven't seen any of these types of issues from Melbourne or any of the AsiaPac countries I visit.
