Import existing svn repository to joomlacode?
Hi everybody,
we are on the way to publish our joomleague project to joomlacode.org
In the last months we are using our own svn on a small home server. Is it possible to use our "old" repository for joomlacode, cause we have made many comments on our changes.
Best Regards
Robert

Hiya Robert, asked Sam to take a look at this, he probably knows this out of the top of his head. What version of SVN are you using on the local server?

Haven't spoken to him, send him a PM. It should be possible, this has good information about such a migration. This is even including history information.

Re: Import existing svn repository to joomlacode?
Hi Robert,
I don't believe it is possible to directly import into a repository via the web interface to retain your previous history. Additionally the JoomlaCode servers run Subversion 1.2.1 (r15230) which will be incompatible with your release (they did some updates along the way). If you can send me a SVN dump (the link Tonie posted has the relevant information) I can then convert it into a compatible SVN repository and upload it to the relevant JoomlaCode project.

Hi Sam,
i have send you the dump today, is this the right one?
I have got these files from one of our developers, please contact me if you need any additional files. We need the svn as quick as possible, cause currently the development is stopped
Should I delete the current svn first?

Re: Import existing svn repository to joomlacode?
Hi Sam,
I am little bit disappointed about ignoring my requests. I have send you an email with the dump and asked you via PM if the file is o.k. or if you need anything else. No answer from you so far, if you are not able to do this import, it would be better to say this and not keep us waiting.
This is not the type of support i have expected from joomla.org especially from the administration team...
I will stop my requests now and you don't have to do the import anymore, my developers can't wait anymore till your team feel like helping us.

Hi Robert,
I sent a reply to your private message requesting you to send it to my joomla.org account (sam.moffatt@ said address) as I am yet to receive any emails and its likely its been nuked by a spam filter somewhere (I'm not sure which address you sent it to which is also a limiting factor). Please send the dump to my joomla.org account or a http download link via private message on these forums and I can process it from there.

Re: Import existing svn repository to joomlacode?
Hi pasamio,
the import is not needed anymore, as I said in my last post we are starting without the old log files.
Currently we are at rev > 140 on the new svn, so it makes no sense to rebuild the old one and do all the changes again.
Anyway, thanks for help, but it was a little to late
Best regards
Robert

Hi Robert,
Good to hear that you're up and running with the new SVN, apologies that I couldn't get your old one up and running as well.
