Hide email address?

Even though I have "Hide email address from public?" checked off in my profile I see that my email address is still viewable by others. I have checked it off and on and saved several times but still the same.

Any suggestions?


PS: I didn't see a Topic for issues related to this Forum so I posted this here. If I missed the proper place please let me know

And when I look left of this message I see the icons that displays my email address and allows someone to send an email to me, which shows my address.

I do not see it.  I see an icon that allows me to Private Message you, but no email icon. You may be seeing it because it shows it to you.  It does not show to the public.

See in the image.  I have an email icon.  You don't.

Perhaps it's smart technology and knows that you're logged in and so it shows you your own email address, so you can see what it is and change it if you need to.
