List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
I see that some extensions have an icon for Joomla 1.5 compatibility, but it would be nice if there was a menu item over to the left or something that listed all 1.5 ready components, at least in this early stage of the game.

Yes it would be...
I haven't come accross any extensions yet *keeps looking* )

Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
joomlaXplorer is marked as 1.5 ready, but for some reason version 1.5 has been pulled down from the forge.
Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
It is confusing. Like CB 1.0.1. It is not compatible yet with Joomla 1.5.
It would be nice if there are 3 groups extensions:
1. 1.0.x
2. 1.0.x and compatible with 1.5
3. Pure 1.5 extension.

Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
Come on people think about it.
The whole point of 1.5 beta is so that developers have something that they can develop and test their extensions with. Hardly likely that there will be many, if any, 1.5 compatible extensions released within 24 hours.
As 1.5 has been constantly changing even upto minutes before the release no matter how hard a 3pd has been following the SVN code its not exactly been easy for them to develop with
Remember 1.5 is a beta and NOT for a live site. It is for testing purposes only

Brian,
You are missing the point here. If you have read it carefully, there is no one here demanding for anything. If you go to the extension site and look, some extension claimed to be compatible with Joomla 1.5 and they are not. It is only causing confusion. That is maybe the reason why some here tried these extension to test the new Joomla 1.5 Beta.

Hi richm,
By using the advanced search and only marking '1.5' you´ll be presented with a list of extensions where the developer has marked 1.5 compatibility.
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
Like Brian says, now its time for the developers to make their extensions ready for Joomla! 1.5, and when Joomla! 1.5 goes stable then the Editorial Team of JED will do our best to ensure that only extensions that are actually compatible with 1.5 will use that tag.
@Apollo, you´re right - its a bit confusing. Think we´ll discuss this matter within the Editorial team
Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
Too bad there's no indication whether the 1.0 compatibility mode is required.
Compatibility mode wastes load time, making the site appear slow. I want to search for Joomla 1.5 Native extensions, to avoid the time required to discover that "1.5 compatible" extensions require compatibility mode to be enabled.
Here's a vote for Apollo's suggestion:

Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
I guess this could be done by implementing some criteria to the extension search box by allowing to search for 1.0 or 1.5 extensions. This shouldn't be difficult to implement..?

Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
There is currently a choice for Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 compatibility. My problem is, a lot of extensions that are included in the Joomla 1.5 selection require the compatibility mode. Docman is currently in that category.
I guess I'd like another selection for "Joomla 1.5 Native" compatibility, for those who don't want to turn on compatibility mode.

Have you taken a few moments to read some of the threads in this forum on this very subject? What have the editors replied?

Re: List of 1.5 Ready Extensions
phpBB help doesn't indicate how to use Search. It's frustrating that "1.5" and "1.5*" and "1.5.1" are apparently not tolerated by the search engine. Is there a way to include these search terms? Searching for "+extension +compatib*" brings up nothing, though the text on the search page indicates the "*" should act as a wild card.
The search results page doesn't appear to hilite posts from Moderators or Editors. It's difficult for a newbie to find authoritative posts.
I get the sense that the issue of identifying "1.5 native" extensions is one of the items the team would like to implement. I was voicing a frustration, and urging higher priority for this issue. But I guess it has been thrashed to death, so this will be my last post on the subject.

You can search here
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
However, you still can't in a good way to distinguish between 1.5 legacy and 1.5 native. We are going to do an upgrade of the Extensions Directory soon.
