troubles with "the download url" should be different to "project homepage"

Hi, I've just wanted to make a slight update on the description
of a component I made (the version has changed) ,
and then I got the error:
"The download URL should point directly to the page,
not the project homepage. Please enter the correct download URL".

I find this message quite annoying.
If I re-read  it again, I see " directly to the page",
thus they didn't mean "link directly to the file".
So what's happen if the project homepage,
is the same as the download page ?

Actually the file for download is hosted in a static site ( I don't always need/want a cms )
, and I put file and explanations in a single page.

I do not wish to link directly to the file...
Lot of people visit afterward my website, after getting what they want.

So do I need to trick the extension website, and let him believe I'm using two different pages ?
