Hi, Charity Code Inc (currently being established) is putting together the 10xStore.org (under constructions) a community of non-profit Shopping Charity Mall Communities. The goal is to allow non-profits the opportunity to create an online Charity Mall Community to help support their individual causes.
The Malls include - top name brand stores for supporters of their charity to shop. Also they will be interactive sites to build stronger ties between the community and the charitable organizations. Each Charity can customize their Mall to fit their community.
- Store specific to the cause and community
- forums, chat, and much more to allow interactions between like minded supporters of their charity.
and much, much more.
The 10xStore.org host their individual Mall for free, sets up their Joomla Site for Free, and much more for free.
All monies earned in each individual Charity Mall Community go directly to the individual charity that it is tied to (the 10xStore.org makes nothing off of their stores).
Yes, we have seen online stores for charitable organizations, some already run by the individual charities, but we have also seen several run for profit online stores that keep a portion of the monies earned (some 60% & more) - we want every organization to have the a fair chance, keep 100% of all monies earned, and also create a network of support from their individual community. This is why we chose Joomla - it is a wonderful program that can help so many, plus the add on features that can be added to Joomla allow for interaction with the supporters. The interaction is the KEY to the Success of each individual Charity Mall. We all know that the more we can get involved with something that has immediate gratifications the longer we will stay with it. That is why it is vital to not just be a Store, but a community.
Operation: Charity Code is looking at building a strong community of Joomla Professionals to assist the individual Charities on some of the more advance features of Joomla.
We have put together a Joomla Site - http://10xStore.org/Joomla/ Resources & Support for the Non-profit community and are opening it up to start with You - the Joomla Professionals.
We would like to build a support system for non-profits that use Joomla, whether for a Charity Mall or for their individual sites. This is open to all charitable organizations and Joomla Professionals.
The fine balance between donating your time vs. how much to charge is one of our first discussions. -- Maybe, a standardized service fee for charitable organizations could be adopted and also a list of all Joomla Professionals that would provide services is where we are right now. By the end of the year we will should have over 100 charities in process of building there own Charity Mall Community. We anticipate - that is will grow substantially more organizations come aboard. Our goal is 100,000 within 1 year from our opening in Dec. 2006.
So, any suggestions, help, or assistants from the Joomla Community will benefit not just one National Charitable Organization, but all Charitable Organizations, including the ones in each of your local areas.
Thank You,
William
