We just discovered Joomla and decided to move forward with using it to run site for our high school athletic department site. Some of the features we would like to incorporate are as follows
Track each sports team stats and each athletes stats
Schedules of game times and practices
Reservation system for shared equipment and facilities
Allow each student athlete to login and monitor game stats and training information via a dashboard to track progress
Allow coaches to login and perform reporting on a students progress in various train programs
TIA
Joomla for Atheltic Department Topic is solved
Re: Joomla for Atheltic Department
I sure wish I could get our athletic department to show interest in our school Joomla site!
Schedules of games and practices can be handled through a calendar component. I like extCal for its flexibility.
I have not explored reservation extensions, but I see lots of potential. Most are Commercial license though.
The statistics and training needs probably could be handled through a forms extension--here are some:
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... /cat_id,0/
I'd be interested to see how it goes!

Re: Joomla for Atheltic Department
The last two sound like a custom plugin for community builder. Its an extension that allows you to have functions for users.
