I'm a student trying to develop a radio website for my school. I am a newbie but have managed to develop the site to a reasonable level (most of the features are in the registered section o fthe site (http://www.insanityradio.com)
I need to create a console pop up with many features on it so that users can listen to the station, contact it as well as finding out other bits and pieces.
I need the console to LOOK similar to the 'MSN TODAY' console that appears in MSN 7.5 with a series of tabs.
I need the console to DO the following:
Live Stream (the link of which I already have and am currently using on the site)
Live chat (similar to the shoutbox component if not the same but integrated)
Egham weather (liek the msn console)
List of podcasts
Webcam (this will be a IP Webcam -basically a direct feed)
Email the studio text box
Request a song (displaying all the songs on our playlists in alphbetical order from our music database (myriad))
Now for the tricky part:
I need a Who's on now and who's on next feature. On the current site (http://www.insanityradio.com) there is a show schedule. What I want to do is link the content of the show shedule table to the console so that when shows change in the show schedule they will appear on the Who's on NOw and who's on next with the time, show name, description and image.
Also I need to include the name of the artist and song that is currently playing. We use a program called Myriad so would need to link this to the console.
I will be installing the google multi-language feature and will need this to affect the console so that if someone changes the language of the site the consoel will also change.
This last 'tricky one' is very difficult and have no idea how to do it so may have to do it at another time: I need the webcam to cut out when a song is played and instead the song's music video appear in the place of the webcam in sync with the song and then when the song has finished return to the webcam.
Does anyone know where to start with this mini project.
