Joomla in Second Life

Hi All.

I just want to announce that a Second Life (SL) group has been created for the Joomla Community.
The group is called: Second Joomla and it´s open and free for everyone who want to join us up there.

Personally, I think it is a big opportunity for all of us, we can talk about Joomla projects, organize virtual conferences and also get fun always around our Joomla Community.

For those who don´t know anything about Second Life, you could visit their website: http://www.secondlife.com or just seach on Google to learn about it.

Been to the site. Cant find anyway to access the group etc Maybe I am being thick.

You have to register, download the client game and play it, once it is all done you could join us at the group.

I joined the group in SL and put forward a proposal I'd like to repeat here. 

Maybe we should look to Mash Up Joomla and Second life, in the way that www.sloodle.com is attempting to integrate moodle and second life.

I could see a situation where Joomla could be used to integrate an organisation's intra / extra net with a virtual meeting venue.  The advantages could include:

1) Minutes of the meeting instantly availabe on intranet.

2) Working groups from meeting could plinter off to work on wiki together, then feed back into the same or next meeting, and have results available via intranet.

3) Integration with VOIP would give aural and spatial space.  Skype conference supported by Second life and Jooma CMS anyone.

IBM is already interested in second life as a meeting venue:

Sure I am interested danieltaghioff, somebody should try writting the code for a component in order to integrate both (Joomla and SL).
Please, if anybody is interested too join us on Second Joomla Group and maybe we should try something together.

I think a Joomla Mashup is definitely needed!  Drupal is already jumping in - well actually, they just have a "coming soon" sign - http://drupal.org/project/secondlife  -
