Just to let you know.
Today at 12.10 GMT+1 all joomla sites (main, news, help & forum) were unreachable for a minute.
On the forum I got the message
"Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later."
It only lasted for a minute, but it scared the hell out of me.
Now I know what a cold turkey must be like for a drug addict

Re: Joomla sites off line for a minute
There was a thread posted here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,15408.0.html regarding a similar issue a few days ago.
At least we appear to have an error message to go on now. The server loads are not high at all as you can see -
Thanks for the report!

There were however a lot of sleeping connections established from the Joomla installation running on joomla.org. I am going to have a chat with the appropriate members of the core team at the first chance I get so we can try to determine what may be causing this issue.root@{removed} [~]# uptime

Re: Joomla sites off line for a minute
I had the same thing at 12:08 and twice more in the past two hours. It is never long though, seconds only.
