Would it be possible to add a new category for "Email List Management" to the "Communications" group? I believe there are several extensions inappropriately filed under "Newsletters" when in fact they have nothing at all to do with newsletters. My new Dada Mail Manager component is one such example.
Thanks!

Re: New Category Needed
Dada Mail Manager is a bridge component that allows access to an existing Dada Mail email list system. Dada Mail is similar to other systems such as listserv, MailMan, EzMlm, etc. It supports both one-way (newsletter) and two-way (discussion) formats. Perhaps it would be more suited to the Forums category, but then it's not exactly that either.
Thanks!
Thanks!

As the author of the latest mailing list component, I would agree. Newsletter was the closest category, but a mailing list is not a newsletter.
A newsletter is a one-way communication system, such as allowing an admin of a Joomla! site to send info to its members.
A mailing list is an opt-in distribution list for that allows two-way and multi-way communication between several people using a single email address. For example, we have several such lists on backupcentral.com. People sign up to talk about various kinds of backup software. Think forum, but via email.
