Joomla! Extensions Directory search SUCKS!!! Topic is solved

I had been searching for almost 2 hours for an extension that allows to create an effect that makes that when you put your mouse over an external link, a preview of a small image appears, and i cant find it. I saw it a few weeks ago but I cant find it now. Joomla is a great CMS... maybe the best outhere but the search in the extensions directory is really bad. Each time I make a search the results gave me more that 300 results, I'm not new using search systems in the internet, If I use google with simple words many components and joomla modules appear faster than when I use the directoy search. Sorry If I'm being to harsh but I'm really pissed off with this matter. If someone knows about the component that I'm looking please help me. I will be relieved

Sucks is a pretty strong word

but i noticed also that it is kindof useless if you need to search after 2 terms since it returns all matches that are for any of the words. there is no chance to narrow down the search..

Sorry but its frustrating to known that the component is in the direcory somewhere but you cant find it just because the system gives you every link that has the word or words  in any part of the description.  Sometimes I try to find a component by name and the searchs just give me the same amount of results... HUNDREDS!...  and i use the real name of the component as is listed but with no luck, then I use google and the first url is the link to the component in the Joomla extensions directory... I hope the guys in joomla could improve the search someday

Hi Cepae,

We are aware that the search can be improved - and its a work in progress.

Until then you can have a simple tip in using underscore:
Searching for the above extension: snap shots
will return 19 results.
If you change your search to: snap_shots
then it only return 1 result.

Thank you ot2sen, that's a great help! Perhaps that could be added to the search destructions. I also find that Google is very useful for navigating the forums.
