When you try to access one of the newsfeed URLs of joomla.org, you get

You are not authorised to view this resource.
You need to login.

...and there's a missing on the (main) page...

what's up with the Newsfeed? The component com_rss_xtd may not be accessed?

Please fix this, so we can continue monitoring the news site.
