Suggestion - divide Tools section at JED

Post by horus_68 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 12:15 am

As for now the Tools section counts 57 extensions
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

Its a specific category, but I propose to divide it in sub-categories:
For instance:
- Template tools
- Database tools
- Installation tools
- Extensions tools

And also some of the extensions (general or extensions icon packs) would be better in a sub-cat?    :-\

Hi horus_68,

Thanks for your suggestions. Could be it would help divide this expanding category into subs.
Will have a look at it to see how many of them could be paired.

i agree 100% with Horus_68 :

bring us more categories and more segmentation.

how can i find what i need in the "content management" section
with more than 160 items for instance ??

that's insane.

max should be 30-40 per category, otherwise divide and conquer.

for tools i don't know, no problem for me, but the more is segmented
the better and logic it is, one section for database, one for remote
control, one for ... these are tools who have nothing in common between
each other in the end.

useability of the joomla site : overall poor, but that's another story.
i can do it 100 times better but what can i gain ?

that's the point.
it's not that we're all good to complain, we can certainly make things happens,
but where's the incentive ?

i speak for me, and i see none.

ever wondered about a shared scheme ?
