Submitted News item not appearing

Greetings,

I submitted a news item on October 19 - and then again each time I saw other news appearing with dates after mine. I read the rules - my item has one image - is short - relevant to the Joomla community (at least I think so)...links open in another page etc...

I have no idea if I am being rejected or you are not receiving it.
Is there any way to tell what my status is?

I did research the news before submitting to see that other Joomla Technical Support sites have been approved. They have. I also looked at several to see how they handled URL's and formatting.
