modify main menu: show current page

Post by smallvoice » Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:00 am

On my local server I've recreated my website (http://www.first-encounter-design.com) in Joomla 1.5. It's my first attempt, so as you can imagine, I've been having a ball  ;). Can someone help with my menu? I've recreated the structure and style with my style sheet: background image for each menu item, other image on hover. As you can see on the menu on my site, there's a different bg img for the 'current' page. In my Joomla attempts, I've been able to get both the blue bg img and the orange hover image. But, no matter how I seem to call the 'current' page in my style sheet, I can't seem to recreate it in Joomla. Any one have any ideas on how I might proceed?
TIA
Bill

Well -- I figured it out! Noticed in the html that the id "current" was followed by an tag. So my style on li#current was being nullified by the style on the tag in my style sheet. Writing the style for li#current a produced the effect I was after.
