Re: Discuss: Joomla 1.5.1 released
Files can be downloaded here:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... ckage_id=2
Note:
1. Except if you know what you do, disable in Global configuration->Sytem tab, the "Enable Web Services" parameter.
The Overlib/tip is wrong when it says it should be enabled by default.
2. Also, concerning MediaManager, we are aware of this issue:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... em_id=9673
3. third issue:
When upgrading from 1.5 to 1.5.1, disable error reporting as this may cause an issue when saving global config for the first time.
One may, if desired, re-enable it after the first global config save.

Re: Discuss: Joomla 1.5.1 released
Thank again for the wonderful job done bye the team. I am impressed.
I have full understanding for why Joomla 1.5.1 is realised due to the security vulnerability, but I am sure the question will be asked:
What about the Template Contest winner JoomlArt, shouldn’t it be released in this version?
Once again thanks for the fantastic work that is done.

The question will come, and is valid. This version came earlier then expected due to the security aspect of it. Hence the fact that it was released now (with the fixes that were already done until now). The dev team and the bug squad have been very busy in the last months (and will be for quite some time). Time, unfortunately, is a luxury .

Joomla 1.5 compatible softwares Forum
It is my first Joomla 1.5 version to upload. It uploaded alright, and it seems to be working.
I get this error though in the Admin page when I install stuff:
Error message
* JFTP::login: Unable to login
* JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed
Unfortunately, I cannot really use the site now because many of the extensions I use are not compatible with 1.5 just yet. Can we have a forum that will focus solely on extensions that will work with Joomla 1.5. That will minimize going through all those gazillion extensions.
Thanks.
Cornelio

I noticed in step 2 of the installation that the name [Seenu] and the date have changed, but the Sub Release Level still is 0?
This is not a big issue, I am just curious.

Re: Discuss: Joomla 1.5.1 released
Just FTP'd the directories into my site and it worked perfectly. Thanks
I may not be too good, but at least I'm not very fast.

Re: Discuss: Joomla 1.5.1 released
The version problem is certainly not forgotten, the version file is updated. We found out that the cpanel version is determined not in the proper way, just a minor issue...1.5.2 will certainly show the correct version.
Don't complain, help out
Re: Discuss: Joomla 1.5.1 released
Since this is a security release, IMHO it should have been announced on the Security Announcements forum as well. By pure chance I spotted this on the Joomla hompage soon after the release (I usually go straight to the forums and have subscribed to the Security Announcements forum).

Totally correct. We'll be sure to keep an eye on that for next time.
