Vienna Malayalee Association goes Joomla!

Post by xtrance » Thu Aug 10, 2006 1:39 pm

Vienna Malayalee Association is a non-resident Indian community association in Vienna representing the Malayalees ( people from the State of Kerala). Recently we have created a website using Joomla and now upgraded to 1.0.10. Visit us at http://www.vma.nri.at  we have also published a request to our Malayalee visitors, to volunteer to help translating Joomla to Malayalam Language. Inspired from the success now we also plan to create a Non profit portal for whole non-resident Indian community, Of course with Joomla! the site will be www.pravasibharatiya.net

Well it looks nice. MP Ferro template you used was it free?
1) How long did take you to develop?
2) What type of web development background do you have?
3) How did you choose the Template?

Busy developing a Swim website but it taking a long time:) My next project would be a school site for the PTA

Thanks aka, The MP Ferro template was free (3 col) and I made small changes to have a 4 col template. For me it took around 3 months to develop the basic site, but then it was my first Joomla experience! I am just a newbie in web development, I started any serious work only in 05 and now I have 4 Joomla sites and is doing 3 others. I choose templates on the basis of the project in hand and its requirements and if there is some need, I just edit the HTML and CSS a bit to fit the style and look.
