Tip: How to Make a Hyperlink Using the Plain Text Editor (i.e., No WYSIWYG)
My suggestion for a FAQ item is to provide a complete example regarding the construction of hyperlinks without the use of a WYSIWYG editor. My forum search showed that people asking a similar question are directed to use the fancy editors. It is possible that providing this basic hyperli...

Re: Live Bookmarks
Joomla does not come with the live bookmark feature out of the box, so I guess it is up to the template designer to code that in or not. Hi brad, I am not trying to be difficult, but I think you mean to say that "Joomla does not come with Live Bookmarks activated by default." Live Bookmarks are par...

Re: Live Bookmarks
Thank you for the reply brad, but that does not address our question. You just pointed out an answer for why the feeds were not working recently. The question here is why does Joomla not employ the live bookmarks option in which an RSS feed icon would appear in the address bar of a browser foc...

Re: Live Bookmarks
I'm curious about this as well (I found your thread by searching the forums). Did you ever get a response?
Does anyone know why live bookmarks are not used on the Joomla frontpage?

Advertisement - Good for Joomla
Pikepace - You are right. The core team has no obligation to warn anyone of changes to the site or their philosophy. They are very busy getting ready for the expo's and have much on their mind. But, it takes about 3 minutes to post an Official Announcement "Hey, we are going to try Google Ads becau...

Advertisement - A Welcome Arrival
The advertisements are intended for people who are not heavily involved with the Joomla project. As many of the posts in this thread indicate, members with significant involvement in Joomla are not interested in the ads (some may even be offended by them?). These very same people should ...

Cleared browser cache again and display is normal.
The display is indeed correct from Safari. I cleared my cache again and then restarted Firefox just to be sure, and now it displays correctly. I was suspicious that no one else had posted this and originally assumed that it had to be a problem from my end. When it did not correct i...

Header image not displaying on Joomla.org.
On the main page, w, there is a large piece of the header image missing. I have cleared my cache and this piece is still missing. I originally assumed it had something to do with my end, but now I am not so sure. The attached image was taken from Firefox 1.5.0.1 on Mac OS X. ...

Top-right corner banner is the best display option.
i personally think it would be more eye-catching if we leave the support-joomla tag in the right top position rather than in the top or left menu. but i am not sure the effectiveness of that position. On second thought, I agree with you. My updated suggestion is then to make the banner ...

Suggestions for display of donation banner and management of support request.
The donation banner is a welcome addition to the site. It does not catch the eye, however, and Joomla might benefit from displaying this donation option in a different way. - Give the donation menu a link in the top bar along with "Main", "News", and the others. I do not have a good sugg...

Suggest FAQ including examples of commonly used attacks
It might be useful to create an FAQ concerning the types of attacks that Joomla users may face. I do not know enough to put any of this together. I have previously read about SQL injections and find it interesting to see how people try to exploit sites. My motivation for suggesting...

According to the Brand Manual, this appears to be misuse.
It seems like this is not allowed. According to the Brand Manual (m), you are not allowed to use the graphic next to your own text. I took the following from page 11 of the Brand Manual: Never combine the symbol with any other text or logo. For use as an graphic element or imagery, it mu...

Re: Why Should I use Joomla instead of Mambo?
When ever I think about a new business the first question I ask myself is, "Why would someone use this instead of what they already have?" From a business perspective, you have to lay out your goals before you can decide on the best method to achieve them. If you would like someone to tell yo...
