Re: Discussion about : Joomla! 1.1 — Developer Power, User Excitement

1.1 is looking very nice, and the stability element Stingrey mentioned with Joomla has really been a godsend. If you were around at the originial release of Mambo 4.5, you know how quickly things changed. And, while it was exciting and many great improvements were added, it seemed like every release...

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! Forge is open for business

Looks great! This forge has some nice features. One question though, is there a secret to what url to use to wget a file with a meaningful filename? When I used this url on this page, i got a perfectly good file named simply frs1010?dl=1 . Anyway, congratulations to the development team and to the c...

Re: New slogan

At m brads says that the marketing survey has now been completed. So what are the results? I think it is important to publish them to put some order in the process of choosing the new slogan, which is becoming sort of a mess.  I imagine it will take some time to even just prepare the results f...

Re: @newart

I respect your arguments concerning the translateability of any joomla slogan. Still i was just answering the only serious reason against "Joomla! Your Website" so far. Christian Thanx a lot choferer for your support of this "point of view". I think it's important. So Do not close any door to anyon...

Re: New slogan

Wasn't it the little people (munchkins?) from the Wizard of Oz?  Hmmm... If I haven't got my childhood movies confused, then I would think that "oompa,  loompa" might be more suited to be used elsewhere.  The delusions of grandeur suffered by that poor old Wizard of Oz kinda remind m...

Re: New Logo

I'm starting to think that the exclaimation points in the very straight sans-serif fonts make the work joomla very hard to read, it almost looks like "joomlal."

Re: New Logo

http://www.peekmambo.com/joomla/joomla_candy_small.png oh, this is great!  my favorite so far! Agreed. The only thing I don't like about Peek's work is the font. It's just a tad lightweight in kerning and styling to go with this very dominant logo. Agreed, as well.

Re: New slogan

I am a web developer and started using Mambo last year.  I now use it exclusively.  I think I will like the name "Joomla" better.  That being said, how about keeping the slogan as close to the original "Power in Simplicity" as possible?  How about: Joomla!  Simply Powerful....

Re: New Logo

http://www.geekextreme.com/images/joomla.gif This looks nice, but that mark is the logo for m. Yeah, this was done on purpose ... Someone mentioned we should possibly contact them to see if they'd be willing to allow us to incorporate it into our logo... Got inspired. Yes, it does look nice, as I s...

I like the idea of the os being two interlocking circles, representing the connectedness of the community.

Re: Project Name Chosen- Discussion

Guys, the hour is a head start as a courtesy to community members who have built their own brands around the Mambo name. If you "miss" the deadline, you may still be able to register your name. Or, maybe since you are having to change domains anyway, maybe now is a good time to un-link your site nam...

Click the link above for "Profile," then on that page find the link for Emails and Notifications and click that. Uncheck all the boxes in the top-most area and click "Save Settings."

Re: Mambo Open Source Development Team - Letter to the community - Discussion

From the information I've seen (which is almost entirely what is publicly and widely available), you are misconstruing the situation. There is no way you can talk about this as if the creation of the Foundation was square one in this situation. Also, authorizing the formation of a Foundation that wo...

If it wasn't obvious, you can go to this site and "Digg" the story. If enough people Digg it, it will be promoted to the front page of the site.
