You would really need to give more information before asking for help.  Sorry.

Not in the SPAM folder.  Culprit is probably "User Error". :)

Got the PM, thanks. Will reply.

Request for extension submitted Dec 3rd but no response

Just wondering about a request I submitted over a week ago for a listing of Logos Query Manager (LQM) which is the successor to Database Query (DBQ) on the 1.5 framework.  No reply yet.  Is there anything that I can help with.

Re: Accepting online payments for a non-profit website

There are a few components that can help.

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
http://www.mambobrothers.com/mambo/inde ... &Itemid=65

Personally, I haven't used either but I know a lot of people who have.  Reviews are mixed and depend on what you need to do.

Re: Joomla vs Studio 8 and Dreamweaver

Sorry, I was a little unclear.  I mean, when one uses dreamweaver to design a template, you use the PHP code to produce the module positions and main body.  In the design view, the PHP code is not being executed so this space is essentially empty.  Of course you can preview your work ...

Re: Joomla vs Studio 8 and Dreamweaver

There is a Dreamweaver ext for Joomla.  I've never used it but it exists. m I taught a few designers about Joomla and they had a real difficult time understanding why they couldn't "see" the page as they were designing it in Dreamweaver.  I basically had to recode everything they did and t...

Very easy to use and many basic features.  If there is anything additional that you need, then you can install Joomla components just as you would for the core distrobution.

Re: Nonprofit Events Calendar Solution

Honestly, I can't see a reason not to use content for a calendar system, as it's structured fairly similarly. Re: Need a 'score' component

You may be able to custom build this using several existing form components.

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

For example, you could use Facile Forms to enter the data, and DBQ to search and display data sets.  This may be a little more complicated that you would want, but it would certainly work.

Re: new to joomla

Welcome to Joomla.  The menu on the left looks like a very standard Joomla menu. I understand that you want the menu to appear whenever someone clicks on an artist's name, is that right?  You don't want the menu to disappear. Is this right? I think this is what you need to do.  Login ...

Re: Nonprofit Events Calendar Solution

It may be difficult to implement a true calendar system because you are organizing your events by content.  Unless you want to hack code, the tool that can meet your needs the closest looks like Content Calendar. m You might be able to represent future events by cheating and setting the creatio...

Re: Fewer Third-Party

As a non-profit volunteer, I would like to see more core components and modules.  I can find many add-ons, but they really hinder progress in the long run. I think that it is important to point out to anyone reading this forum that Joomla's philosophy is a little bit different.  There are...

Maybe community builder (CB) is a good choice for you.  This would allow you to have profiles, a forum to post questions, and the like.

The access/registration for fee issue is a notable issue and I'm not sure if it has been sufficiently addressed.  I certainly haven't found a good answer yet.  It seems like the best (and most complicated) solution out there at the moment is Access Granted (m ).  This is a commercial ...

It sounds like you want a commenting system, although the "comments" may not actually be comments.  I haven't used anything like this, but a quick search of the extensions site (extensions.joomla.org) pulls up a lot of choices.  Joomla Comments looks promising.  m . Didn't you like th...

Accessing Database Resources on Non-Profit Site

I just wanted to let those working with non-profits know about a tool that I'm developing named Database Query.  I've been developing it for almost two years now, previously for the Mambo CMS, and now for Joomla.  DBQ lets one make SQL queries to a database.  You can place variables i...
