Not at all. It's a ridiculous notion.

Oh, my! Well, as long as we are being frank, RJS. I think that was very rude of you to call ridiculous that which is actually a selfless, generous and kind act for a person who has sacrificed much for us. Where are your manners, son? You need to learn to keep your foot out of your mouth.

Here's what you now might want to say (feel free to adjust the words so that they reflect your own voice):

You know what, you are right. I don't have to participate because that is my choice. But, I should not be mean and call what someone else choices to do "ridiculous." Why, if someone said that to me, I would be hurt. And, I am not the kind of person who likes to hurt others. So, please forgive me my mistake and let us start anew!

You can quote it if you mean it! And, if you mean it, I am to forgive you. Otherwise, don't bother. You are the one who benefits from forgiveness! I know I didn't deserve that remark.

Your call, dude.

Well I believe Amy's intentions are noble and personally I like her attitude. If you were one of the lead developers I would like to see you be able to go to the developer conferences too and would be there to be involved in the cause if it were needed.

Well keep up the good work looking good brad. Shall I post the core dev's remarks sent to me via private message?

Of course I won't. But rest assured. You throw me away and everything I stand behind, you will see what you should have saw before. Don't play your game with me ever again.

You are free to do as you will within the bounds of the rules that help to contribute to community and order. Joomla is looking great, this thanks to all who contribute, including yourself. 8)

You have my direct contact details Rick, if you want I'd be happy to give you a phone call again. However no one is being 'thrown away' and there is nothing 'secret' that is being hidden from the community.

I don't want to play games, just use appropriate language and I am sure all will be fine. :)

I'm all for law and order and obiding by the forum rules. I helped write them.  I run a business of ethics every day of my life.
Mistakes are being made. People are being left out who gave and will give. The problem is the order in which you write the rules.

Thanks for your contributions to the moderator guide. It helps the moderators greatly in applying the rules.

Now, lets not take this thread off topic... ;)

Okay chief. Maybe one day you'll have a change of heart and recognise what I offer. I wrote in this thread in response to the ignorance of the issues, the terms of the GPL, and the function of open source software.

Now we have the issues under control, best wishes and onward movement.

rjs, why do you have to bother us with your frustrations again and again? This is a forum about an open source project, not about you. This was an interesting thread, we don't need you to spam it with your sour empty criticism.

Hi

as the originator of this thread, I wanted my questions answered and my comments to be debated, which would also have thrown up some answers to those questions not yet asked!

Around two or three posts in, the question was naively asked, "is there any more to add to this subject" and the number of reads and responses shows that this topic was far from dead at that point.  If I had known how, I would have put a poll in just as a visual indicator.

The posts have been gradually getting off thread and taking up too much of people's time keeping it civil.  I thank all of the contributors to the thread and to those that wrote anyway, well we enjoyed reading that too!

I request that this thread now be closed.
