Todo: Empty Demo/Documentation/Support link will result in "http://" link (obviously misleading) https:// will still be turned into http://https:// I'm also not sure what to put the AEC in - its Non-Commercial insofar that I don't charge for the license, but I do have the membership for su...

I would refer you to the "help" page in your AEC Backend and to the numerous (solved) topics on this in the globalnerd.org forums.

Re: Why it is so hard to upload extensions?
Well, I fear that if you want to use it, you will have to learn how to use it, simple as that. Here is a small list of what you have to do: Download the AEC to your computer (I would recommend the development version 0.12.4.15j Login to your Joomla Backend Joomla 1.0 - Go to Installers->Components J...

Oh and it did of course! I saw the language as pretty mild too, but still pointing in a general direction of course. Thanks for the quick reaction!

hey LorezoG:
It is not true that a paid membership is required for the latest version. I think I have done that with one version half a year ago, but it is no longer required.

Would somebody mind deleting the sentence that includes "porn site" and "manparts" in this review ? Not that I have a personal problem with it (heck, we all know what the internet is for, right? ;) ), but I know some people who would be a tad more sensitive to such subjects. I've...

What happened to the Votings in the last couple of days?
Hey Extensions dir mods, I'm just wondering what happened to the votings in the last couple of days. About four or five days ago, the AEC has 93 votings, now it has 89. In the meantime, the sorting also changed - first it was AEC, JCS, nBill; Then it was PCS, JCS, AEC, nBill and now it is JCS, AEC, ...

Re: Extensions Dir Bug: Why no entry with more than 50 votes has more than 4 sta
Wow, that was quite an effect. Major extensions like CB, JoomlaXplorer or JCE did a jump between 0.5 and 1.5 stars! What a difference such little things can make. And thanks again for the insight and willingness to recount! I feel that this was an important step in keeping the extensions directory i...

Re: Extensions Dir Bug: Why no entry with more than 50 votes has more than 4 sta
Indeed. What I should write is that there are extensions with rating more than 4. It's just that it is represented by 4 stars. Which is what I presented in my estimations as well - so yes, and in danger of repeating myself: The matter is not the amount they do have, but that it won't change. My bas...

Re: Extensions Dir Bug: Why no entry with more than 50 votes has more than 4 sta
Yes, thats what I meant, none of them has more than 4 stars, which is perfectly represented in your search as in my previous research. However, I find it quite a bit outrageous that you would not consider a recount with the values we do have. Of course I don't know how much of the history is lost, b...

Re: Extensions Dir Bug: Why no entry with more than 50 votes has more than 4 sta
Well, 9 decimal places could help indeed, although you might want to get to using float in the first place.
As for the recount: Since Mosets can make the relation between reviews and votings, I assumed that there is another table storing these values. Maybe I have to dig a little...

Re: Why no extension with more than 50 votes has more than 4 stars
Maybe you need a graph for illustration purpose? Say we have a component with a rather mixed start: 4, 2, 5, 4, 4, 3, 5, 1, 5, 3, 5, 2 votings in that order. But after that, it gets only straight 5's all the time. This is how the development would look like until voting number 100: https://globalner...

Re: Why no extension with more than 50 votes has more than 4 stars
The ideal solution in computation is already there, the problem is just the truncation. If they would switch the field to either having more decimal places or making it a string, that would already do the job just fine. Oh, and a recount of committed votes would make sense as well of course.

Re: Why no extension with more than 50 votes has more than 4 stars
Well, apart from the fact that rounding errors should not exist at all since they always accumulate to a larger problem... What you describe is just what I wrote about before. The problem is not the part you write about though, but the fact that this new rating is truncated by the database table, wh...

Re: Why no extension with more than 50 votes has more than 4 stars
In a discussion with another developer, he tried to make the point that maybe MySQL already does round the numbers (I'm not sure that it does), so that the effect would be smaller. So after I pointed him at the obvious math, let me state this here again: Even if there would be rounding, the value wo...

[FIXED] Why no entry with more than 50 votes has more than 4 stars
In relation to my earlier post on this matter it seems that not only does it make sense to open a new entry from time to time, its also technically impossible to get a high rating with lots of votes. Let me explain that: When a new voting comes in, Mosets Tree uses this formula to determine the new ...

Re: Could it be that its sometimes better to open a new entry?
As for the yes/no answer - yup, that is what I was pretty much planning for anyways. It will be a pity for the lost reviews, but probably worth it. A version-based review system could indeed make this simpler, since that would be making what most do anyhow into a streamlined process. Overview on vot...

Re: Could it be that its sometimes better to open a new entry?
As a small aside here:
Can somebody explain to me what exactly "favoring" an extension means... technically? And why some extensions are favored more times than they are actually voted for?

Hey folks and moderators! I'm a bit concerned with the ratings on the AEC, but please don't understand this as whining - I just want to know whether my observation of the ratings system is accurate or not. I don't want any special treatment or anything. Ok, that out of the way, here is what is stran...

I was really meaning to do that, although I thought that reporting a listing would be more for reporting offensive material by everybody.
However, I've now also reported the reviews I noted above
